NANDANKANAN, literally meaning  “The Garden of Heaven”, is located near the capital city, Bhubaneswar, in the environs of the Chandaka forest. The zoo is home to many animals of different species. Major attractions are Bengal tigers, Asiatic lion, Indian leopard, Indian python and King cobra.

LINGARAJ TEMPLE is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and is one of the oldest temples in Bhubaneswar, the capital of the state of Odisha. The temple represents the quintessence of the Kalinga architecture and culminating the medieval stages of the architectural tradition at Bhubaneswar.

UDAYAGIRI AND KHANDAGIRI CAVES, formerly called Cuttack caves, are partly natural and partly artificial caves of archaeological, historical and religious importance near the city. The caves are situated on two adjacent hills, Udayagiri and Khandagiri, Total 18 caves in Udaygiri and 15 caves in khandagiri.

KONARK SUN TEMPLE is a 13th-century temple dedicated to the Hindu Sun God (Suryadev). The temple has appearance of 100 feet high chariot with 24 wheels and 7 horses, all carved with stone. Various sculptures present on the walls depicts Hindu deities, apsaras, narrating the Hindu texts.

How to Reach Bhubaneswar

The distance between Bhubaneswar airport to Bhubaneswar railway station is 5 km, therefore, one can easily travel the distance through an auto-rickshaw, a taxi, or a local bus.

By Train : Many Indian cities are connected with Bhubaneswar with its well-connected railway system. Bhubaneswar Railway Station is the main railway station in the city. From here one can easily avail buses that run under Orissa State Road Transport Corporation (OSRTC) and also by privately owned operators.
